Decision & Risk Analytics Research Group

👤 รศ. ดร. นราภรณ์ เผ่าประสาร

Multi-criteria analysis and risk modeling to support strategic decision-making.

This group works with decisions made under uncertainty, where the criteria that matter often pull in different directions — the cheapest option isn't always the safest, and the greener choice isn't always the most immediately cost-effective. Its research builds decision frameworks that weigh these factors systematically, rather than leaving the call to judgment alone.

Research spans game theory for allocating security and infrastructure resources, fault tree analysis for assessing risk in complex systems, and analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy decision frameworks for choosing between technologies or suppliers. These tools are often paired with simulation to test outcomes before a real decision is made.

Applications range from public-policy questions — assessing public-transit congestion, or gauging public risk perception toward a new nuclear research reactor — down to organizational ones, like selecting production machinery and technology, showing how the same decision tools travel between government and industry settings.
